The Best Pizzas in São Paulo

Updated: Sep 4

Beautiful São Paulo Pizzas
São Pauls's Best Pizzas

São Paulo is home to some of the finest pizzerias in the world, but the city’s pizza culture offers a distinctive twist compared to that of the United States. In São Paulo, most pizzerias open their doors only at night, creating a more formal dining experience than the typical American pay-by-the-slice establishments. Saturday night stands out as the prime time for enjoying pizza, so reservations are highly recommended. Brazilian pizzerias tend to feature an array of unique toppings, such as hard boiled eggs, olives, chicken, and catupiry cheese, while pineapple is notably absent. Additionally, these pizzerias often serve sweet pizzas for dessert, delighting diners with creations like a pizza pie crust topped with chocolate brigadeiro spread and sliced strawberries.

Honorable Mention

Paul’s Boutique Pizzeria, with its unique blend of traditional New York-style pizza combined with creative culinary twists, is a big hit amongst our members. Known for its large, foldable slices and crispy, thin crust, Paul’s brings the classic New York pizza experience to São Paulo. The vibrant, artistic decor and lively atmosphere make it a favorite among younger crowds and those looking for a fun dining experience.

Signature pizzas at Paul’s Boutique include the pizza picante, which combines pepperoni and pickled jalapeno with hot honey, which balances heat and sweetness beautifully, and the sweet corn & bacon pizza. The adventurous menu and energetic vibe at Paul’s Boutique ensure that every visit is a culinary adventure, making it a top spot for pizza enthusiasts who appreciate both tradition and innovation.

Known for its consistent quality and traditional approach, Camelo offers a wide variety of pizzas that cater to all tastes. The pizzeria’s signature is its thin, crunchy crust, which provides the perfect base for an array of mouthwatering toppings. One of Camelo's standout pizzas is its classic marguerita, a true masterpiece that showcases the simplicity and excellence of traditional Italian pizza. Bráz Pizzaria Moema is celebrated for its authentic Brazilian pizzas and inviting atmosphere. The premier pizza destination among AmSoc members, in 2022, Braz was nominated the fifth best pizzeria in the world. What sets Bráz apart is its dedication to using the highest quality local ingredients, which infuse each pizza with a distinct Brazilian flair. For example, the 50 Top Pizza, which helped to propel the restaurant to its global top-five status, combines Italian tomato sauce and five special cheeses: Bonfiore fresh mozzarella, Catupiry, Pardinho blue cuesta, Almeida Prado buffalo ricotta, Fazenda Atalaia tulha, and basil to create a creamy and savory delight. Some amazing news for Paulistanos, there are in fact seven Braz Pizzerias located across São Paulo, so this world class pizzaria will always be nearby.
