Beer has made it onto the menu as more than an afterthought. Beverage directors, chefs, and even wine lovers have learned that beer has an amazing capacity to pair with all kinds of foods. As a result, beer sommeliers have popped up in cities across the United States. We want to join the fun with our own beer pairing event on Wednesday, August 31st at 7:00pm. At 'Hold the Cheese' A four-course meal consisting of two starters, a mini main course and dessert will be served, each paired with one beer.
The menu will be as follows: Whitefish ceviche with Wittekerke Wit, Belgian Witbeer by de Brabandere; Jamaican Beef Pasties with Yardbird, American Pale Ale by Greene King Morland; Wild Boar Chop with Caramelised Apple, Spinach and Cracked Wheat with 1845, bottle-conditioned English Strong Ale by Fuller’s; New York Cheesecake with Imperil Stout by Fuller’s. (As you see, the cheese snuck in!)
There will be a qualified, English-speaking Beer Sommelier present. This is a meal; do not book dinner afterwards. The amount of beer involved is approximately one litre in total. More beer will be on hand to purchase.
