This year, on Saturday, July 2nd, at our annual Independence Day Picnic, the Consulate will have staff on hand to help people sign up and participate in the Fall Election process. What a great opportunity for our American members to participate in the 2016 Presidential Election!
Doors open at 1:30pm, giving you time to catch up with old friends, before the hot dogs and hamburgers are served up, starting at 2:00pm. Like any American tradition involving food, our meal will be rounded out with your homemade salads and desserts. We’ll have games, prizes, and activities for the kids, and our traditional Rock ’n Roll Band for all.
Space will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations must be made before June 22nd, due to guest security clearance protocols at the U.S. Consulate. If you don’t have a reservation you will not be allowed past security.
When you make your online reservation, be prepared with the names and IDs of everyone in your group attending, both children and adults. You will also need to present a valid photo ID for each person on the day of the event.
Our office will also coordinate with you on which of your favorite homemade dishes, salads, or desserts to bring for all to enjoy!
To help the event run smoothly, we could also use some volunteers! Please let the office know if you can help with decorations and set up in the morning, or receiving the homemade dishes during the event, or taking down the tables and chairs afterwards.
This is a free members-only function. Members may bring guests, at a cost of R$60 for adults and R$40 for children under 12. Not yet a AmSoc member? Sign up online at www.amsoc.com.br/joinnow or contact our office directly. The savings on this event alone almost pays for a family membership for the entire year!
*No parking will be allowed inside the Consulate. A parking lot, "MP4 Estacionamento" will be open at a cost of R$20 all day. Its location is very close to the Consulate, at Rua Thomas Deloney, 179.
